Recently we discussed GMN Aerospace’s growing plastic capabilities thanks to our GMN Plastics divisions’ new quality system certifications related to the Aerospace industry. The parts we produce for our long time customer, Garmin AT, are great examples of how GMN Aerospace’s plastic capabilities can serve Aerospace customers.
Aerospace Project Engineer, Brady Deacon, recently began a discussion about the parts that we produce for Garmin. Currently we make over 20 parts for Garmin, including in-mold decorated (IMD) overlay assemblies and over-molded adjustment knob assemblies. These assemblies go into various configurations of flight deck control panels, which Garmin builds for typically smaller and light aircraft manufacturers.
Our plastics division first started working with Garmin in 2003 on both IMD overlay assemblies and over-molded adjustment knob assemblies. The Garmin parts produced by GMN Plastics can be found in the cockpit of Cessna, Cirrus and Honda Jet planes.
