On July 29th women from the GMN Aerospace team attended the PNAA’s 2015 Women in Aerospace luncheon. The ladies from GMN Aerospace work in a variety of job functions including sales, customer service, quality assurance, marketing, and more. We were proud to represent GMN Aerospace at the event!
The luncheon featured female speakers from aerospace companies that discussed the industry, how their careers have grown within aerospace, and challenges they’ve faced. The importance of understanding individual strengths and learning from failures came up in each speaker’s presentation.
The first speaker was Fiona McKay, director customer business – Boeing from Rolls-Royce North America, shared the biggest lesson she’s learned was to learn to deal with failure and turn it into a positive learning experience. Kristina Hayek, US regional instructional design and development manager from Hexcel Corporation, discussed her role at Hexcel Corporation and how her background in human resources and teaching play a big part in her current role. Jenette Ramos, vice president and general manager Boeing fabrication from Boeing Commercial Airplanes, shared the advice to “lead from where you are,” to other women growing a career in the aerospace industry. Norine Murray, senior operations manager, composite wing center 777x wing IPT from Boeing Commercial Airplanes was the final speaker at the event to discuss importance of leading with strengths in whatever position you have.
The entire GMN Aerospace team enjoyed the luncheon and was appreciated the insights provided by the speakers at the event. We are already looking forward to next year’s PNAA Women in Aerospace luncheon.
