On April 18, 2017, GM Nameplate (GMN) was named John Deere’s Electronic Solutions Supplier of the Year. Company employees accepted the recognition during formal ceremonies held in Moline, IL.
In addition, GMN also earned recognition as a Partner-level Supplier in the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program for the fourth consecutive year. The Partner-level status is Deere & Company’s highest supplier rating. The Seattle-based company was selected for the honor in acknowledgement of its dedication to providing products and service of outstanding quality as well as its commitment to continuous improvement.
John Deere’s supply management team created the Achieving Excellence Program in 1991 to provide a supplier evaluation and feedback process that promoted continuous improvement. Suppliers who participate in the program are evaluated annually in several key performance categories, including quality, cost management, delivery, technical support and wavelength, which is a measure of responsiveness. From the pool of companies recognized for Achieving Excellence, a Supplier of the Year is selected from each category.
GMN supplies John Deere with ruggedized display assemblies that are used across all of John Deere’s product lines. The custom manufacturer oversees every step of the integration process including the touchscreen, display, housing, optical bonding, and final assembly. With an ISO 9001-certified quality system in place and years of experience serving several highly regulated industries, GMN provides this complex assembly while still meeting stringent quality and delivery requirements.
GMN was previously honored with the Supplier of the Year Award from John Deere in 2013 as well. In the past, the company has also received the following accolades from Deere and Company: Partner-level Supplier (2013, 2014, 2015), Innovation Award (2012), and the CROPs Award (2011).
Bruce Cleckley, CEO of GM Nameplate, credits the win to working with a first-class customer. “We approach our projects together as a united team. This collaboration is what allows us to consistently drive value and deliver best-in-class solutions for John Deere. We are proud to continue to support and partner with such a great company.”
