SEATTLE, WA – At Seattle Business Magazine’s 2013 Manufacturing Awards, Don Root and Brad Root, were jointly awarded Manufacturing Executive of the Year in the large company category. This is the second time a member of GM Nameplate has been a finalist for a Washington Manufacturing Award.
The Washington Manufacturing Awards are organized annually by the Seattle Business Magazine to recognize the state’s top manufacturers. At the beginning of the year GM Nameplate was nominated for the award. There are six award categories: Manufacturing Executive of the Year, Manufacturer of the Year, Emerging Manufacturer, Innovator of the Year, Food Processor of the Year, and Nonprofit Manufacturer of the Year.
“This award is for GM Nameplate as a whole – our family, our employees, and our customers, who we consider a part of our family,” said Brad Root. “As a business, it is our value and belief in our people that really help our business grow.
“We are fortunate to have fantastic customers locally and around the world,” said Don Root. “We are very proud to be a part of Washington manufacturing.”
Nominees were judged by a panel of six judges. Don Root, chairman of GM Nameplate, and Brad Root, president of GM Nameplate’s Seattle, WA Division, were selected for their display of excellence in leadership, contributions to the manufacturing industry, and their commitment to continuous workplace improvement.
“We believe the only ceiling is the one we set. And we plan to continue to raise that,” said Brad Root. GM Nameplate extends congratulations to all winners and finalists from the Washington Manufacturing Awards. It is honored to be amongst the state’s best manufacturers.
