SEATTLE, Washington – GM Nameplate (GMN) was recognized with the Manufacturer of the Year Award by the Center for Advanced Manufacturing Puget Sound (CAMPS) at their 2018 Award and Recognition Banquet. The banquet was held on November 14, 2018 at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, Washington. Attended by manufacturing companies from around the Puget Sound ranging from startups to second and third generation companies, this event was held to showcase and celebrate several companies in the region for their accomplishments in manufacturing. A number of GMN employees were in attendance and the award was accepted on behalf of GMN by Jeff Root, GMN’s corporate director of quality and continuous improvement.
The Manufacturer of the Year Award acknowledges the top manufacturer of all categories and overall business success for the year. Qualification for this award depends on a company’s demonstration of success in the areas of company profitability, innovation, community impact, CAMPS participation, and leadership.
A CAMPS member since the organization’s inception in 2008, GMN has been involved with and supported CAMPS in a multitude of ways, from serving on various panels to providing presentations on GMN’s experiences and expertise in areas such as innovation, lean manufacturing, and team building. GMN has also enhanced its technical and workforce development skills by attending and participating in many CAMPS workshops throughout the years.
“It is a great honor for GMN to be recognized by our peers and top manufacturing companies in our region as the Manufacturer of the Year,” said Root. “Over the years, we have been fortunate enough to work with and be honored by many wonderful companies both locally and globally, and a part of that has been due to organizations like CAMPS that are helping us to grow, innovate, and thrive in the marketplace.”
