This week’s Puget Sound Business Journal’s cover story discusses Boeing’s “Partnering for Success” program. Carlo Mears, Vice President of GMN Aerospace, is quoted in the article referencing GM Nameplate’s partnership with Boeing and its Lean coaching. In addition, GM Nameplate is heralded by the Boeing team as an example of a positive partnership with its suppliers.

Boeing’s “Partnering for Success” program is aimed at reducing its cost in building an airplane through partnerships with its suppliers. As pointed out in the article, reducing the cost of purchased components, which make up 65% of an airplane, can result in significant cost savings. The program requires direct suppliers to work more closely and effectively with Boeing.

GMN Aerospace has been touted as a leader among Boeing Suppliers in our response to the program. Last year, GMN collaborated with Boeing to streamline production of Aerospace parts. The collaboration resulted in a reduction of cycle times by 25% and savings for Boeing.

As an Aerospace supplier we recognize that successful partnerships with customers are necessary to be successful. We are excited to be acknowledged for our collaboration with Boeing to implement production efficiencies and cost savings. Visit the PSBJ website to read the full article.
