PNAA Women in Aerospace

On April 26th, the women of the GMN Aerospace team attended the Pacific Northwest Aerospace Alliance’s (PNAA) 2016 Women in Aerospace event in Mukilteo, WA. This was the third consecutive year that the women of our team proudly represented GMN Aerospace at this event.

The event hosted several women speakers from multiple aerospace companies including The Boeing Company and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). These inspirational women shared about the hardships and successes they’ve encountered throughout their careers in the aerospace industry and their paths to the current leadership positions they hold.

A major theme that was stressed by each presenter was the importance of having mentors in the professional setting. Mentors help you to achieve greater success in your career and encourage you to reach your goals. But mentors can’t be chosen overnight. Determine what you want in a mentor and then seek out those around you who motivate and inspire you, whether it is a friend, family member, coworker, or someone in your extended network. Then, schedule some time with this person to start to build a working relationship.

The women of GMN Aerospace enjoyed this all day event and appreciated the testimonies of the women who presented. We are looking forward to the 2017 PNAA Women in Aerospace event!
