Automated spray painting is a fast, accurate
method to decorate a one color part. GM
Nameplate's state-of-the-art automated spray
painting, tunnel conveyor and tunnel oven
system make it possible to spray and cure
parts in a single operation.
GM Nameplate uses computerized spray
painting robots in a sealed chamber which
provides excellent process control to
ensure accurate paint thickness and reduce
contamination. This precise application
process is perfectly suited to spraying
metallic inks.
Automated spray painting is often used
in conjuction with laser etching where
molded elastomer parts are coated with
both translucent and opaque ink. After
the ink is cured, text or graphics are
laser etched through the opaque ink and then
a clearcoat is applied to finish the part.
