PCB

Combining a graphic overlay and printed circuit board (PCB) is a simple way to reduce the amount of materials and interconnects required since the PCB eliminates the need for a rigid subpanel and may contain a number of passive and active components. The PCB may also include tactile or non-tactile keys according to the designer's preference.

Consists of a graphic overlay, top spacer (for tactile designs), shorting pad membrane, bottom spacer and printed circuit board.

Specifications

Reduces customer assembly time by combining several components into one assembly

Offers economical, space saving solution

One supplier has control over design and manufacture of a complete plug-in front panel, thereby eliminating assembly problems resulting from incompatible components from different sources

Meets broader electrical requirements than membrane key panels

Field serviceable

Stronger construction than membrane key panel alone

Wide variety of connector options

Low profile

Sealed

Generally higher cost than a flexible membrane key panel at higher volumes

All components must be mounted on one side of the PCB
