![]() Axiom Worldwide came to GM Nameplate looking for a second source membrane keypad supplier. They found a supplier capable of providing a complete plug-and-play subassembly that made it possible to bring their new, break-through electrical stimulation therapy device to market faster, reduce administrative costs and improve quality. The partnership began with a discussion about their current membrane keypad solution. However, the Axiom team quickly realized that GM Nameplate could offer much more: a superior rubber keypad interface, graphic overlays, printed circuit boards, plastic injection molded quick-release valves, optically bonded ITO shielding and a variety of other subcomponents—all manufactured or sourced by GM Nameplate and provided as a complete plug-and-play subassembly. Where Axiom had planned to use as many as six vendors, they could now coordinate activity with only one. GM Nameplate's design engineering team took Axiom's simple rendering of the EPS8000 and created a detailed, documented and fully functional electronic design, speeding the total development time for the already over-extended Axiom engineering team while improving the overall quality and consistency. GM Nameplate has since worked with Axiom on user interface components for its other products. Production begins in the next few months. .
