GM Nameplate Expands Multi Color Printing Capabilities with Acquistion of New Equipment
GM Nameplate, a leading manufacturing solutions provider, announced today the acquisition of a Six Color UV Conquest Screen Printing Press.

GM Nameplate projects a minimum 20,000 hours of production planned for multi-color production jobs for fiscal year 2006. This press is slated to replace several single color presses which will now be freed up for other work. This press is expected to cut production time and related costs down to about 4,000 production hours, a time and labor savings of approximately 80%.
“We acquired this press for multi-color production of graphic overlays and instrument panel clusters. It will greatly increase our production capacity and reduce our costs for many jobs we run for the automotive industry and for medical device manufacturing,” stated Brad Root, president of GM Nameplate. “This significant reduction in setup time and a greatly increased impression count per hour will net us a substantial cost and lead time savings we can pass on to our customers.”
The advantages of the Conquest press are improved setup and run speed and increased consistency of quality (by handling the sheet only once and guiding it one time). This press runs at the rate of 400 – 450 impressions per hour per color. Given the standardization of print stations, setup time is reduced from 30 minutes to 10 minutes per station.
